Hi! I’m Carol Estes, a seasoned artist and interior designer living and working in Paris, France and Southern California.

France captured my heart on my first visit years ago and has long been the overarching inspiration for my interior design sensibilities and lifestyle. While living in Paris I was driven to make art that reflected my adoration for the city’s culture and soul. I set to work and a collection was born. I layered my flea market antique French and Japanese textiles as memories of past lives. Simultaneously I was weaving my own memories of Paris flea market experiences into each composition. A full circle artistic moment was created.

From raw and real materials, I create minimal, raw, soulful abstract collages and paintings. Working with a limited palette of desaturated color my art feels aged, yet always sophisticated and current.

My art provides depth, authenticity and historic contrast to clean contemporary and modern spaces. At the same time, it represents my sensitivity to our environment in my use of recycled textiles, papers, frames and canvases. I am not only inspired by authenticity. My work reflects it in substance.
